Am i going to do an entire blogpost about a lip balm? Yes, yes i will
The Hurraw lip balms are a staple product of mine and i always make sure to have one with me. This is what the company has to say about themselves on their website:
“Hurraw! Balm started out of pure intent; an obsession to create the perfect balm: truly natural, vegan, made from premium raw and organic ingredients. It also had to meet some tough criteria…long lasting, not sweet, never grainy…and the list goes on. To ensure the quality and integrity of our product, we individually pour each tube of Hurraw! balm in our own facility. Our priority is to make Hurraw! the finest balm available… a great product to be used by everyone regardless of lifestyle.
Let’s put the concept ahead of the profit, the user ahead of the maker, the collective ahead of the individual.”
(I’m joking, geeez….)
What i first noticed when i started purchasing them was the lovely oils they all contained. You know i’m a sucker for oils, and when i saw that the first ingredient of each balm consisted of almond oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil etc i knew i’d struck gold! Since these little nuggets are all vegan they do not contain bee’s wax but instead they use candlelit oil, sustanably harvested in Mexico. This provides a shield to lock all those oils in. Often lip balms contain petrolatum (aka vaseline) or palm derived waxes since they are cheaper but perolatum really doesn’t do anything for your skin and palm derivates are bad since they harvest rainforests.
Besides the nourishing oils, fair trading etc they also have a variety of nice flavors, most from pure essential oils. My favorite is the Coffee bean balm, since i’m a human espresso
Coffee bean balm
Ingredients: Prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, Euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, *Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, *Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, *Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, *Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, Coffea arabica (coffee) bean oil, Tocopherols (sunflower), *Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed paste, Benzyl Alcohol‡ (‡natural component of flavor)
Almond, jojoba and coconut oil, my three faves all in one tiny tube. Heaven, why have thy granted me this gift??? Honestly i could go on and rave about this, but i think you should stop reading now and instead go to you nearest retailer and buy one yourself.
A lot of flavors
Oily, might be too much for some liking.
